Almost two years after arriving in the United States in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was time to return to Turkey.
Working with Dr. Jorge Chahla at Rush University in Chicago was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Prof. Safa Gürsoy. Alongside the many publications and materials produced together, Dr. Chahla became an incredible mentor and a close friend.
Our thanks go to the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush physicians, the clinical team and the research teams for making this journey unforgettable. At the end of the fellowship, the Chahla team presented a plaque recognising outstanding work as a clinician and researcher.
